At Somos Martina, we believe in collective transformation.

Through sexual education programs and training in the production of reusable cloth pads, we collaborate on providing access to menstrual products and offer tools for personal development. We recognize that every individual is part of this revolution and that, united, we can create a significant impact in our communities and in reducing menstrual poverty.

Our Methodology

In our sexuality workshops, we dive into understanding our bodies and the menstrual cycle, divided into two parts:

Part 1.

We dedicate time to deeply understand our bodies. Through interactive activities and open discussions, we explore the physical and emotional aspects of female sexuality. From understanding anatomy to debunking common myths, we create conversation circles to share and learn experiences related to menstruation. We delve into the fascinating world of the menstrual cycle, uncovering its mysteries and learning to recognize its different phases. As we deepen this knowledge, we gain a better understanding of our own bodies and empower ourselves to make informed decisions about our health and well-being.

Part 2.

We move to practical action: creating reusable cloth pads from scratch. This activity not only provides a sustainable and environmentally friendly alternative for menstrual management but also strengthens our community bonds.

Together, we learn sewing and design techniques, transforming fabrics into powerful tools for menstrual care. Each stitch is an act of empowerment as we become creators of our own solutions. While working together to make these reusable pads, we share knowledge, experiences, and laughter. This process teaches us practical skills and connects us with our creativity and collaborative ability.

At the end, we leave not only with sewn cloth pads but also with the infrastructure in machines and materials to continue producing pads for ourselves and our community. This training not only empowers us individually but also enhances our ability to positively impact those around us.
